Lingerie DIY

Hey guys,

So I thought I'd do a post on lingerie today. So I used to work at M&S for five years, part-time, in the lingerie department, as a trained bra-fitting customer assistant. So I think it's fair to say that I know my plunge bras from my full cups and my As to my GGs!

I personally, am quite busty (above a DD) and so thought I would choose some particular gorgeous lingerie for my fellow busty ladies! Above is my wishlist, with my obvious biased towards Marks and Sparks! I want everything on this list!

DIY Bra-Fitting:

  1. Measure right under your bust, if even add 4, if odd add 5; this is your BAND size. 
  2. For your BUST size, we were trained to look at your bust and estimate your size to fit you. So for the purpose of this guide, go with what feels natural and comfortable on. 
  3. However, as a quick DIY tip, measure directly across the bust and your bust size will be calculated from your band size. So if you have worked out your band size as 34 and you measure 34inches across your bust, this would be an A. Whatever band size you have measured, A is the same measurement (e.g. Band 36 and bust 36 inches), then B (36 and 37), C (36 and 38), and so on!
  4. Your bust should fit comfortably and fully into the cup, not over-spilling and busting out!
  5. the wire should sit flat on your breastbone between your breasts. 
  6. Band size should fit snugly, not tightly, around on your back, comfortably on the middle hooks. 
  7. You should be able to run two fingers under your bra straps with friction.
  8. Spillage and four boobs (a clinical term ha) is generally a no-no, if you are incredibly big busted, go for a full cup, with wider straps for support, non-wired bras are also great. 
  9. Plunge bras are the best for a sexy plunge neckline under clothing. 
  10. T-shirt bras are the perfect everyday bra and are available in wired, non, wired, plunge, full cup etc.
